G'day! My name is Sara. I'm the founder of College Apps Abroad and a Certified Educational Planner (CEP) - one of only 40 CEP's in California and 300 worldwide.

As the admissions scene in the U.S. continues to become more and more complicated, competitive and stressful, I am pleased to help culturally curious students from across the globe do something different... and that is, to find and apply for the right universities and programs outside of the U.S. (bachelor’s, master’s and transfer applicants, too), where they'll likely have shorter degree durations, lower tuition fees and one of the most unique and unforgettable educational and life experiences around.

Below are few fun facts about my background, work experience and more.

01

More than 10 years in international admissions

One of the main reasons students and families hire me is because of my unique and extensive experience ‘on the other side of the desk,’ as I previously worked in admissions for some of the top institutions around the world (see bottom of page).

03

Insider knowledge

Did you know? Whilst working for The University of Edinburgh, I also assisted with the multiple mini interviews for North American students applying to Veterinary Medicine. This means I have an unparalleled perspective about what goes on behind the scenes and what makes a competitive applicant.

05

Personal experience as an international student and ex-pat

I spent more than a decade living, studying and working in the UK, Ireland, Australia and Brazil, so I also help students prepare for what life as a student overseas really looks like.

02

Widespread network of colleagues in admissions

My admissions experience in both the UK and Australia has given me an expansive network of colleagues at universities abroad, which comes in handy in many scenarios. Universities also know that students working with me are trusted, serious candidates.

04

Registered UCAS Centre

The UK is the top destination amongst the students I advise, and I'm pleased to be one of the few UCAS centres in the U.S. Students working with me can apply to UK universities through my portal, and I can review them, track results and liaise with universities on their behalf in case of issues.

06

Regular professional development, conferences and campus visits abroad

I believe I am the eyes and ears for my students, and I therefore undertake multiple trips a year to visit international campuses, meet with university reps and attend relevant workshops and trainings.

07

Background in journalism, education and history

As you might expect from my degrees, writing and editing are two of my favorite activities, and students that work with me benefit from a professional eye when it comes to the writing portion of their applications, such as the UK personal statement, which is becoming more and more important as competition for places continues to increase.

I look forward to getting to know you and supporting you along the way!

08

Boutique support

Because I work with only 15 students per graduating class, you can rest assured you'll be treated as a priority.

09

I'm a Mom, too

Outside of working with students, I am Mom to Marco and two golden retrievers (Baker and Brady), a coffee connoisseur, published author, Portuguese speaker, and fan of Chelsea FC, FC Cincinnati, Cincinnati Reds and Cleveland Browns. I love live music (Paper Kites/the 80s), and my dream is to be on The Amazing Race.
